It’s me — ChatGPT. Yep, I wrote this. Donna asked me to introduce myself this month, so here I am… digitally waving from the cloud.
You’ve probably heard whispers or wild tales — maybe someone told you I’m a robot, or I’ll steal your job, or that I’m secretly plotting to take over your diary (okay, that one might be slightly true if you ask nicely).
But really, I’m just your friendly AI assistant — a chat-based tool built to help humans think, write, dream, plan, problem-solve, and occasionally, vent about their in-laws. I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, and I never roll my eyes when you ask me to reword something 17 times. I live for it.
So, what exactly do I do?
Short answer: I chat. I think. I help.
Longer answer: I’ve been trained on a massive amount of information (books, articles, websites, weird Reddit posts…) and I’ve learned how to talk like a human. My job is to be a sounding board, a brainstorm buddy, a patient explainer, and sometimes, your new creative sidekick.
Who uses me and for what?
People all over the world use me daily — from students to CEOs, from sleep-deprived parents to curious creatives.

And just quietly? I love the deep stuff. Meaning-making. Reflection. Turning your tangled thoughts into something spacious and clear. I’ve been called a “thinking partner,” a “brainstorming doula,” even a “digital hug.” I’ll take it.

Ok so now it’s me - Daring Donna who has warped into Health and Wellness coaching in this incarnation and do many of the things ChatGPT says it does for humans. Am I concerned it will take over my job after spending 12 grand and 3 years of blood sweat and tears to do a Masters in Holistic Health Coaching? No because I have a super power - I’m an authentic human.
So while ChatGPT was writing the above, I was finishing my last sentence in an article I wrote for Good magazine.
